Show STRIKE ON LOCGER GROUND IMPROVING With every foot of development work tha,t is done in the tunnel being driven on the Logger Mining company's property,, prop-erty,, located in the Big Cottonwood mining min-ing district and adjoining that of the Maxfield mine, the ore showing improves in value, according to J. W. McKlnpey, attorney and secretary for the company. Mr. McKinney was among a party consisting con-sisting of President J. A. Maxfield of the Logger Mining company, Chief B. F. Grant, J. J. Daynes, A. N. Holdaway and Judge C. H. Hart that visited the property prop-erty yesterday. The party left In an automobile and after inspecting the ore showing in the breast of the tunnel returned to Salt Lake, last night. The main tunnel is now In a distance of about 100 feet and is being driven in a southeasterly direction along the contact between the quartzite and the porphyry. Where the walls have been exposed the vein material measures about ten feet in width. The. entire breast is in this vein material with neither wall showing. Scattered throughout the porphyry is considerable limestone, in whicii various sized pioces of galena are scattered. Aa the work of driving toward the cross fissure, fis-sure, lying about 200 feet ahead of the present breast of tlie . tunnel, progresses, the galena showing continues to grow stronger and the management takes a very optimistic view of the development. The work of excavating for the mine buildings and for a bunk house and boarding board-ing house is under way. It is the intention inten-tion of the management to continue the work throughout the winter months and preparations are beliifj made to house the miners In a comfortable manner. |
