Show MAN IN AUTO CRASH REACHES SALT LAKE State Horticultural Inspector Attributes His Escape to His Weight. With but a scratch on the side of his face to show that he was in the automobile auto-mobile accident on the Black Ridge road in Washington county, near St. George, Tuesday, when Mrs. Sarah Casto of Sa-Una Sa-Una was killed and seven other passengers passen-gers Injured, .T. Edward Taylor, state horticultural inspector, arrived In Salt Lake at G o'clock yesterday morning. After stopping in Salt Lake for a few hours, he continued on to Brigham City to attend the Peach . day celebration there. Mr. Taylor recalled yesterday that he had planned to take with the late Professor Pro-fessor L. A. Merrill the automobile trip that cost the professor his liTe, in an automobile accident between Salt Lake and Ogden. He was prevented from going go-ing only at the last minute by disarrangement disar-rangement of his plans. Mr. Taylor is inclined to think that his weight, about 330 pounds, saved him in the accident of the other day, where a heavier man would have been hurt. Speaking of the condition of William Stucki, 25 years of age, and his brother, Alvin, 81, both of Santa Clara, who were the most seriously hurt or the injured passengers. Mr. Taylor expressed doubt of their chances of recovery. |
