With new mru'hine drills ordered besides be-sides thus,, that are already in emuniis sum, tho mniingeineiit of tile Alta ( on jsolidated Mining eonipany, the property of whieh is Uu-iiied in t ho l.ittlo t'ol-tonuood t'ol-tonuood district, will inuiu'diatolv sliirt doieloimig th 1,;,, 1,,-dded vein.' This work is to bo earned on lv driving two drills so as to bo able luv'urntelv 10 determine de-termine the average melallie eoiitont. In the .No. C easi drift, wluoli is following fol-lowing the Hr.-iin iismiio, the bla.'k lime-stouo lime-stouo has been penetriilod lor some d.s-taneo d.s-taneo aud a slieal, ot ore is showing in the laeo. It. was in this bhiek liuiesione that the Un.-jlv ere body ol the Mieln I tah was diseovered". In this same No. 2 east drift, about half wav between be-tween the face of the drift and tho raise whieh comes up train No. 1 drift, a fault fissure was intercepted when tho work was being done. This fault fissure fis-sure lies prettv close to a porphviv dike, which was also cut in this working, nnd on its course will intercept the porphvrv dike. ' The Kvain insure along which this drift has been carried, forms another intersection. In the fault fissure there is a considerable width of mineralized ground, and by a comparativelv small amount of development work these three can bo encountered. This work was not undertaken before on account of the desire of the management to advance ad-vance the work by the Brain fissure, as rapidly as possible. The ground in the vicinity of this fault fissure is of extremely ex-tremely favorable character, and definite defi-nite results should materialise at au earlv date. The winze on the western portion of the i-train fissure on the tunnel leel is only now being started. The delay has been due to tho lack of rails. Alta Consolidated Con-solidated is suffering in common with the other mines of the Aita district from the inability to get its hauling done promptly. There has been such an impetus to the whole camp during this summer that j it 4ir.s been difficult to meet the new situations as they have rapidly arisen. The lack of a sufficient number of teams is about to be remedied. Arrange meuts have been made with a large hauling haul-ing contractor from Park t'itv. who will arrive in the Alta district ' this week with a number of teams which will probably supplv all the immediate requirements re-quirements of the different mines. in the No. 1 west drift, which is being be-ing driven for the quart.ite-limestone contact, no advance has been made during dur-ing the week as rails are being laid nnd the drift put in order so that tho broken material can be e1 ononiically handled. The general rate of progress during the week at the Alta Consolidated, on the whole, has been slow, but with the arrival ar-rival of the necessary supplies in the course of a week or so. the expanded development campaign will begin to take shape and more rapid progress be made. |
