Show SIXTEENTH WARD AT LIBERTY PARK Members Will Take Advantage of City 's Recreation Ground to Hold Outing. Liberty park is to be the scene of a ward outing next Wednesday, when the members of the Sixteenth ward of this city will picnic at this beautiful city pleasure ground. Officials of the ward selected nest Wednesday because it is to be the occasion of the regular mid-week open-air concert of the Grow & Roberts Military band. Tho committee in charge says that everybody is expected to go on this occasion, where parents and children can have a good time without speudiug a week 's salary. A special street car will leave Seventh West and Xorth Temple at 12 p. mM going go-ing direct to the park without transter. The following programme of sports will begin at 4:30 p. m.: Forty-yard foot race, boys under 6; forty-yard foot race, girls under 6; fifty-yard loot race, boys under S; fifty-yard foot race, girls under S ; seventy -five-yard foot race, boys under 10; seventy-five-yard foot race, girls under 30; seventy five-yard foot race, girls under 14; luO-yard foot race, boys under 14; 1'iO-vard foot race, open to all ; fifty-yard foot race, married mar-ried ladies; firry-yard foot raco, fa.t men only; bun-eating contest, lean men onlv; forty-yard foot race, backward?. There is to be a priz for the largest family out from the ward, a prize for the youngest child on the grounds, a prize for the oldest person on the grounds, other prizes and purprises, and a baseball game, seventies vs. elders. |
