Show UTAH AND IDAHO TO FORE WITH GRAIN Statistics Compiled for Territory of Union Pacific System Give Good Evidence. Utah and Idaho led all the states traversed tra-versed by the Union Pacific system in the yield per acre of grain and potatoos during dur-ing 1914, according to a report complied bv the company from government figures. "While Utah was lower in the amount produced pro-duced than any other state, the yield per acre was larger except on wheat and potatoes po-tatoes in Idaho. Both states show an increase in-crease in the yield per acre over 1913 except ex-cept in potatoes. During 1914 Utah produced 420.000 bushels bush-els of corn, averaging 35 bushels to the acre; 7 .2t.00 bushels of wheat, averaging averag-ing 25 bushels to the acre; J3. 000. 000 bushels bush-els of oats. avertiKimr 50 bushels to the acre: 20i,000 bushels of potatoes, averaging aver-aging 140 bushels an acre. Idaho produced r.SO.OOO bushels of com. averaging 31 bushels un acre: 14.362,000 bushels of wheat, averaging 26.2 bushels an acre; 14.fiOS.O00 bushels of oats, averaging aver-aging 41 bushels an acre; 5,270,000 bushels of potatoes, averaging 153 bushels an acre. In Utah the average yield on all the crops was larger in 1114 than In MH3 except ex-cept potatoes, while the averutro yield In Idaho was lower on very crop than in 1!)13.
