The senate today passed Senator William Wray's bill legalizing ten-round boxing bouts under supervision of a state athletic commission, commis-sion, bv a vote of l?2 to IS. The bill, it is expected, will meet serious opposition oppo-sition in the house. . The house today passed three Ttepub-Hcan Ttepub-Hcan party measures curtailing the appointive ap-pointive pow. of the governor. Tlie first bill, abolishing the state tax commission com-mission and transfcring its work to tlie state land commissioner, was passed by a vote of 72 to 19. The other bills deprive de-prive the governor of representation on the state land and equalization boards. Governor Ernest Lister's supporters in the bouse opposed all threo bills vigorously. |
