S6 vears of age, a member of the Br"ham Young company of Mormon pioneer" pio-neer" cih-a at the home of her daughter h this city at 0:30 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Do.vuVI was a resident of Santaquln, but was visiting at the home of her daughter, 'Mrs. Louisa Pfost, J.vtO Laneoln avenue, when she became so 111 that it as impossible for her to return home. Born in Marion county. Alabama. April ''' IS'S Mrs. nowdel joined the .Mormon cfcmeh when 10 -years of age and arrived In Utah with the Brigham Young com-tanv com-tanv od July :4. 1S47. For the greater part of her life the piuneer woman had been a resident of Santaquln. -Mrs. Dow-dell Dow-dell was mother of tho first white girl Imm in Salt Lake City. That daughter is now Mrs. Martha J. Rubey, residing at Helper. Olher surviving sons and daugnters are R. T. Dowdell, Twin Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Louisa Pfost, Ogden, and J. II. Dow del, Downey, Idaho. There are also fii'ty-f.ve grandchildren, fifty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. 1 he body was removed t-i the Larkin undertaking under-taking rooms and will be sent to Santaquln Santa-quln for interment. |
