Show GOOD SAMARITANS CHARGED WITH THEFT Youths Aid Girls Who Are in Motorcycle Motor-cycle Accident; Later Arrested as Supposed Auto Thieves. Edgar Bush, 359 Tenth avenue, and Wallace Parry, each 20 years of age, played the part of Good Samaritan at an early hour this morning and then were later arrested by the police for the alleged al-leged theft of an automobile. The two youths were driving the car. No. 4404, on the State street road in the vicinity of Beck's Hot Springs and reached the place just as two motorcycles collided. One of the motorcycles was driven by Ernest Hunt, 135 Dunbar avenue, and the other by J. p. Evanson of 116 North First West street. Girls occupied the ; rear seats of the two motorcycles and both were slightly hurt in the spill that ; followed. The automobile came along , at just this time and picked up the girls and took them home. Later, when it was reported to the police that the automobile in the case was No. 4404, the owner of that machine ma-chine was looked up. He proved to be D. A. Affleck, 624 Third avenue. Mr. Affleck, however, said that his car was supposed to be at the garage of the Alkire-Smiih company, Fourth South and West Temple streets. Inquiry at the garage revealed that the machine had been taken out and the hunt for it was started, with the result that Bush and Parry were arrested. At the police station sta-tion the two claimed that they had permission per-mission to drive the machine. Of the motorcycle riders, Evanson was the only one injured. He drove his motor to the police station, reported the accident acci-dent and had his Injuries dressed at the emergency hospital by Dr. H. B. S-prague. Bush and Parry are held on a charge of grand larceny. |
