Justice, precinct 7; J. T. Alwood. constable, precinct S. All these mn have to do to qualify is to flic a bond for 5500 and take thu oath of office, and when urged by the commissioners have promised to do ao at once, but the promises never matured. Subdivision 5 of section 511 of tho Revised Re-vised Statutes gives the commissioners jiowor to till these places by appointment, appoint-ment, Tho commissioners are also looking for a constable for the Garfield precinct. Fred Furrow, duly elected and qualified, resigned on account of Ulnens. and C. G. Sander3 was appointed lo fill the vacancy, va-cancy, but ban not qualified, Tho offices of justice of tho peace and constable are not very remunerative in the outer districts and this probably Is the reafon for the failure of tho officers to qualify. |
