A small run was made on the Jordan State bank this morning as the result of an attempted change of eashWs. Earlv ves-terday ves-terday afternoon tho Joseph and A. W. Nelson faction of Salt Lake City, consisting con-sisting of Henry T. JlcEwmi. O. C. T3co-bee, T3co-bee, Ashley Snow and Charles S. Burton, Bur-ton, telephoned William S. Diamond nnd J. W. W. 1'Itzgerald that they would lllte to moot them at tho bank at 5 p. m. William Wil-liam Aylett, president of the bank, was not Invited to bo present. The local directors asked what tho object of the meeting was and wero told that thoy would not explain until they had elected a secretary. Vlco President McEwan presided and appointed O. C. Becbeo secretary. A motion cnrrled tigalnst tho protest of the local directors proscnt that Cashier Walter D. 1'llz-gerald 1'llz-gerald be nolillcd by Alt 12 wan that ho had been deposed as cashier of tho Jordan Jor-dan Slato bank. As a result, tho prospective cashier, Mr. nioom, had the pleasure of standing around all day. Tho run was made on tho deposits as soon as the bank was opened to tho public, hut Cashier Fitzgerald Fitz-gerald had tho foresight to get extra funds Immediately from Salt Lake. The business men of tho town and vicinity vi-cinity who havo subscribed for stock In the new bank, to bo opened In the near future, will meet In Goff's hall tonight and effect an organization. |
