March HI.-The city council met last night in regular session and disposed dis-posed of the following business: A communication was read from AHIs-Chalmers AHIs-Chalmers company or Salt Lake City offering of-fering to furnish Information on the construction con-struction and cost of a municipal electric lighting plant. The matter was referred to tho committee on electric lights. The committee on cemetery recommended recommend-ed the employment of four assistants to Sexton Wride to labor in the cemetery. Tho report -was adopted. The committee on public grounds recommended rec-ommended that four hundred trees be planted In the North Park, and that Thomas Allen bo employed to look after and caro for the west sn.uu.rc and North Park at a salary of 575 per month, Ro-port Ro-port adopted. The street supervisor was instructed to procure shale for testing the now street, roller on A cad em v avenue, between Fourth and Fifth South streets. The matter of securing an cngincor for the street roller was referred to the committee com-mittee on streets and alleys. The claim of the Blue Cliff Canal company com-pany against the city was referred to by Mayor Decker, who staled that tho claim, when paid, would settle all controversy between tho city asd canal company. On recommendation of Fire Chief An-nitstead. An-nitstead. John .T. Loveless was appointed assistant fire chief nnd Don S. Park as teamster In tho lire department. A motion to the effect that special taxpayers tax-payers be nottlled when taxes arc due. was laid on the table for one week. Mr. and Mrs. William Fewkes of Lon- 1 don, England, are visiting In Provo with I Mr. Fewkes"s nephew, .John W. Guy. Mr. Fewkes was at one time connected with l the railway service of England. He has j been on a pleasure trip to California and other western states and stopped off here on his way home. Mr. and Mrs. John TV. Kempton of Salt Lake City are happy over the arrival of a son. Y. university have repaired the campus in readiness for the Intercollegiate games to be played this soason. The grandstand and training quarters also have been overhauled and placed In good condition. Judge Booth. District Attorney ClufC and Court Stenographer Mrs. R. N. Walters have returned from Vernal, where they have been holding a term of the Fourth district court. The Schwab Consolidated Mining company com-pany has llled articles of Incorporation with the county clerk. Provo Is the principal prin-cipal place of business. Tho capital stock Is $100,000, in shares of the par value of ; 10 cents each. The company Is formed to develop the Agnes group of mining claims in East TIntlc. Samuel Schwab is president: presi-dent: .1. Preston Creer, vice president; He- ber C. Jex, secretary and treasurer, and these, with John Roundy and Samuel Brockbank, form the directorate. Articles of Incorporation of the Antelope Ante-lope Mining company have been filed In i the county clerk's office. The company j will develop the Ahtclopo group of three 1 claims in the TIntlc district. The capital j stock Is $50,000, in shares of the par value of 5 cents each. The officers and directors, are John D. Dixon, president: William D- Wilson, vice president; Arnold Dixon, secretary and treasurer; uanves E. Lunt and Arthur N. Haylor. Ernest Whitby of Alpine, the young man who Is charged with criminal assault, as-sault, was arraigned today beforo Justice Noon .and waived a preliminary hearing, and was bound over for trial In the district dis-trict court under ?2000 bonds.
