Show SAMUEL BITHELL IS DEAD AT QPHIR, UTAH Special to Tho Tribune. OPHlIt. Utah. March 31. Samuel Blth-ell. Blth-ell. better known to the residents of this town as "Dad." died hero Monday at tho nge of sevonty-lwo years. He was born in Liverpool. England, August li", 1837. lie came lo Utah In December, 1S5G, crossing the plains as the driver of one of Squire Tcnnant's teams. Ho crossed the plains again In 1SC0. and on the trip met tho woman whom he later .married In Florence, Neb. The couple returned to Utah and resided In the vicinity of Ogden until 1S71. when they moved to this town. Ho Is survived by his widow, thirteen children and twenty-threo grandchildren. Mr. Bithell was In the livery business hero for thirty-four years, and for twen-ty-nlno years had tho contract for carrying carry-ing the malls Into Ophlr. The remains were taken to Salt Lake this evening, and funeral services will bo held at O'Don-nell's O'Don-nell's funeral chapel Thursday at p. m. P.uiial will be In the family lot at Mt. Olivet cemetery. |
