Show I HIGH SCHOOL NOTES At the recent meeting of tho high school congress the lower house completed com-pleted Its election of officers. Near the opening Of the meeting Principal Eaton presented to the house, through its secretary, sec-retary, a complete sot of books for the iccords and proceedings. The boohs arc handsome, being bound in heavy tan leather and with detachable pages. On the first few pages the constitution and by-laws of the rongresa are engraevd. The work was done bv Professor Todd of the penmanship department. Frank v heeling of tho sophomore class was elected doorkeeper and Jack Bell assistant assist-ant secretary. The committee from the senior class that will have charge of the commencement commence-ment oxorclses will hold all Its meetings In secret, as It Is the plan of the class tn keep tho commencement programme quiet. A number of meetings will be held in the next two weeks, as tho time for practice is getting short. Tho members of tho committer aro Gilbert Williams, chairman; Marjory Short. Will Hall. Grace JBIrd. Mildred Jones, Lawrence Clayton and Dee Stone. - During the first semester the classes were conducted In tho afternoon, but since Professor llarwood has secured an assistant the classes now run the entire en-tire day. da An announcement recently was made to the cadets that caused considerable interest, in-terest, for it concerns every cadet In the battalion. Colonel Sam Park will give a gold modal to the cadet who has tho highest grade on an oral examination In guard duly. In addition to the guard medal, it is beinc: planned by Captain Webb to offer a sliver medal to the best-drilled best-drilled cadet in each company and a gold medal to the best-drilled cadet in the battalion. 1 Tho matter of dress for the spring graduation exercises is causing considerable considera-ble trouble among the senior girls, and a meeting to settle the question resulted In nothing much being done. There Is trouble as to whether or not gloves shall be worn and whether the .slippers and stockings shall be black or while. The regular Friday meeting of the high school congress will be culled off this week, as the senior students will bo busy taking tlio preliminary examinations for graduation. The cadet battalion will hold a special drill Thursday afternoon for one hour. Time is limited before the big parade and a number of movements must be Improved Im-proved upon. As a whole the work of tho cadets Is good and Captain Webb is well pleased. A census of tho senior class was taken Wednesday morning during the lirst period pe-riod In order thnt the office may have a complete record of the students. w W President Lester Wire of the Athletic association will call a general meeting of all members, when tho matter of the coming class track meet, and also tho Olympic meet, will be discussed. Roth the meets are of considerable Importance, Impor-tance, as the outcome of the track team depends largely upon them. The Fred C. Richmond medal will bn given to the best all-around athlete at tlio Olympic meet. Silver and bronze medals will be given away at the class track meet. It Is something for tho boys to think about, and for this reason the meeting will bo held, Principal Eaton will also give the bovs a good athletic talk. Owing to the fact that Tom Leaver has quit school there Is a vacancy in Company 13. The position of llrst sergeant ser-geant has been tilled by the appointment of Reginald Wallace Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, fa The athletic directors finally gave in I and allowed the members of the basketball basket-ball team caps in return for their work on the team. The caps already have been purchased and distributed to the players. play-ers. They are all rod with a large black "II" in fiont. with a small black "B" on each side of the II."
