It Is doubtful if any gold mine in the country Is making the record of the 'Little Florence Flor-ence lease In Goldileld. liven staid mining min-ing men here arc aghast at the smelter returns, and the ore seems to be getting get-ting richer. The lease expires on the 2Blh of this month, and feverish basic is being made to extract the ore. The stock Is closely held and not listed. No waste is being hoisted and the rock Is being shipped as it is shot down. Smelter Smelt-er ijciurns received today from 215 tons, shipped, follow: Thirty-eight tons. $720 per ton: forty-three tons. $70.' per ton; forty-four tons. 521 per ton; forty-four ions, 5"!)2 per ton: forty-four tons. 53lo per ton. two tons, S3H70 per ton. Considering that no sorting Is being , done, there is not a place In the world where this record can be paralleled. All outsiders hao been denied admittance to the lease, and watchmen are on the lookout look-out for high-graders.
