Show CEDAR BASIN WORK GOES JAITHFULLY OH Company Blocking Out, Ores Without Hearing Any Financial Finan-cial Troubles. Mr. .JLI. Burtner, president of the Cedar Basin 'Gold Milling company, has just issued a report of an inspection of the properties of tho company made last week, The property of the company consists of a group of eight claims, known as the Crown group and tho Hustlers group of six claims, located in Lincoln county, Nevada. The camp which the company hns constructed on its properties is about forty-eight miles southeast of Moapa and approximately the same distance from the Searchlight district. It is about eight, miles from the Colorado river. The district in which this company is interested bears many general features feat-ures which characterize the big gold mining centers of the southern part of Nevada. The country rock is granite. The ore-bearing material is a quartz rock carrying sulphides of iron. Tests carried on through a long period indicate indi-cate that the values are generally found in the sulphide material, a fact which has already caused the officers of the company to decide that a concentrating unit will be a part of the mill which they plan to construct. Associated with the -quartz in many places is a porphyritic granite. Especially where the veins widen out this porphyritic granite appears in quantity. Not only do the quartz parts of the vein carrv sulphides, but the porphyritic part of the vein also shows the sulphide in line-ly line-ly disseminated cubes. Tho vein matter mat-ter will crush readily and little difficulty diffi-culty is expected in concentrating, as there are no other heavy minerals in the ore. The company owns a spring about, a mile up the canyon front its property. Wood is plentiful on the hills; hence, these two features will make possible certain mining and milling features that often worry companies in districts somewhat distant from the railroads. Water is found in the workings about 100 feet from the surface, in , such quantity that even if there were no other, the supph- from rhe mine would provo ample for the mill. The company will install a gasoline hoist within the present month. Work is being pushed at three different parts of the groups. The quartz carrys $H in gold. Another shaft shows a wider vein which, howovor. does not carry quite such high values. Concent rating will be possible on this material. The concentrates arc expected to run about $200 a ton. One feature of the operations opera-tions of the eompanv which is encouraging, encourag-ing, is the fact that work has been pushed all winter despite the financial stringency, and another is that work is all being paid for as it is done.
