Two inmates of the state prison woro granted pardons and ono other was granted a parole at tho monthly meeting meet-ing of tho stato board of pardons, held at the prison Saturday morning. Altogether Alto-gether six cases were considered, and of the remaining tin oo. two applications for pardon wen ociiied and one was continued for sixty du3's. Pardon was granted to Joseph Thompson Thomp-son of Uintah county, who w;as serving a sentence of one year and nine months for felony. Ho was sent up on Juno 17 of Inst year. Tho other pardon was granted to John Zabiskic, a Greek. Zabiakio was serving a sentence of eight months for a statutory statu-tory offense, committed in Sanpete county. A. P. Iron, serving one year for forgery, for-gery, was paroled. The case of John 9. Douglass, serving timo for murder, was continued sixty days. The applications of Dnane McCand-less, McCand-less, who is serving' nine months in tho county jail for involuntary mnnslaugh- j trr. and Joseph Davis, who is serving five months in tho same institution for petit larceny, for pardon weie denied. |
