U. , Sonator McDevitt presented an impor tant resolution proposing a constitutional constitu-tional amendment providing that: any incorporated city, town or village shall 1 have the exclusive right to vote on the. licensing of Ealoons, sale of spirituous ! lirmors. etc. I II II Tho honso bill providing for an an na nual meeting of county auditors, the ex-U ex-U pense to bo paid by the state, was de-M de-M feated. and during tho discussion on tho measure a number of members dc-I dc-I clared they had never seen the state I oxaminer, who was an advocate of tho H bill and originator of the state meeting idea. The two bills, one for a bridge across i tho Clearwater and ono for a bridge across tho Salmon, were favorably considered. con-sidered. All bridge bills will be enacted and passed to tho governor, who. it is said, pledged himself before election to favor the passage of a bill for a bridge at Bonncrs Ferrj, over tho Kootenai river. Tho Republican anti-pass bill was passed. Several important bills were ff presented Among them was an anti-11 anti-11 trust bill in restraint of trade and a D board of arbitration measure, also a U bill prohibiting attorne3's from accopt-1 accopt-1 ing tree transportation. 1 A communication from the South Da- f kota legislature containing a joint reso-I reso-I lution to congress to amend the constitution consti-tution of the United States prohibiting the practice of polygamy in all tho states of the union, was read, and it was referred to the state affairs committee, with Bishop-Senator Hart as chairman. Xo doubt the South Dakota legislature did not even suspect it was sending its , declaration to the hierarch's duly accredited ac-credited representative in the Idaho j senate.
