Show RICH GREENWATEE DISTRICT. Donald B. Gillies Givos Opinion of Now-Copper Now-Copper Center. Donald B. Gillies, ihe manager of the Greenwater and Death Valloy Copper company, upon his return from the mines in California, stated In an Interview as follows: "Sixteen claims and five tractions are cmbracod In the group." said Mr, Gillies. "The development work which will begin be-gin Immediately will consist of three shafts, ono on the oast end, one at the center and one on tho west end of the pfoperty. We have the strike of the vein system for a distance of 1800 feet, and there are ot least live well defined ledges on our ground, all of them having most excellent surface showings. "The doepest workings are on tho Copper Cop-per Queen claim, consisting of a shaft, now down seventy feet. The ahaft was sunk on the vein and exposes llret-class ore for Its entire dopth. The veins on the different properties vary In width from 15 to ,40 feet. On some of the undeveloped un-developed .properties the surface show-Inge show-Inge Indicate a width of 200 feet. "Tho district very much resembles the United Verde district at Jerome, Ariz., the same country rock, and the samo ore prevailing. J. C. Pyle, the representative representa-tive of Senator Clark, visited the district thiB week and was very favorably Impressed Im-pressed with the showing. The 'Borax' Smith railroad will run within twelve miles of the new camp at Greenwater. The neareDt railroad point is Johnnie Siding about fifty miles distant." Ore and Bullion. 'The ore and bullion receipts tor Saturday, Sat-urday, given by McCornlck & Co., were as follows: Ore, $21,000; bullion. $44,-000: $44,-000: gold. SS200. The total ore and bullion receipts for the week amounted to $505,000. as against 3442,500 for last week. The total gold receipts for the w.eek Just closed amounted to $25,100. |
