Discrimination Discrimina-tion and unjust rates are the chargeb fllea with the Interstate Commerce commission com-mission today against many of the lrti-pbrtant lrti-pbrtant lines of railroad ot the country by shippers. New Haven ft Hartford Hart-ford Rallrond comnany, and all of the Important lines of railways doing business busi-ness between tho North Atlantic coast and the Pacific coast discriminate against Denver merchants and Jobbers in favor of those of San Francisco and other Pacific coast points In the matter of rates. ; It Is alleged .that the defendant companies com-panies exact a rate on calico and similar merchandise from Atlantic coast points to San Francisco and other coast points of ?1 per hundred pounds on carload lota and 81.50 per hundred on less than carload car-load Jots; whereas, to Denver and Colorado Colo-rado common points they charge 11.79 per hundred, with no reduction for carload car-load lots. On other classes of merchandise, merchan-dise, such as cotton sheetings, cotton duck, etc., tho defendants charge a rate of GO cents per hundred on carload.- lots and 51.85 per hundrodvfor a loss amount than a carload; while tho rate on the same goods to Denver and Colorado common com-mon points Is $1.79 per hundred, Irrespoc-tlvo Irrespoc-tlvo of amount.
