Show SUIT TRANSFERRED Ohio Ooppor Mining Company Sued for $20,000. The transfer papers In the suit of Edith C. Howcroft against the Ohio Copper Mining company, to recover $20,000 damages, dam-ages, were received In the United States District court Saturday. The petition sots forth that the plaintiff plain-tiff Is the mother of Vllato Howcroft and William N. Howcroft, Infants, and also that she has been appointed guardian for these children, and the suit 1b brought jointly for them and herself. The complaint furthor alleges that William Wil-liam N, Howcroft was employed as a inuckor In a mine In Bingham canyon owned and operated by the defendant company, and that decoasod was, at tho timo of his death receiving the sum of $2.50 per day as compensation for his work. Further, tho complainant alleges, that on February G, 1906. William N. Howcroft was killed by losing his foothold on a ladder, which was furnished as the means of Ingress and egress to and from tho mine, by way of a shaft. It 1b further alleged that this ladder wns, by moans ot Its position, damp and slippery; that It was unsafe, and that the company was responsible for tho death of the do-ceased. |
