Show PIONEER WOMAN GOES TO HERJINAL RES! Mrs. Agnes C. Douglass of Pay-son Pay-son Dies at the Age of 88. Special to The Tribune. PAYSON, Sept. 5. This city was thrown into deep sorrow this morning through tho death of Mrs. Agnes C. DouglanH, which occurred at 9;lo. Mrs. Douglass was aged 88 years and 6 months. Mr8. Douglass was born In county Antrim, Ireland, April 6, 1818, and came to Utah In 1S48 with a company of pioneers pio-neers and sottlod In Snlt Lake, whero she resided with her husband, William Douglass, and family until 1858, when they removed to Payson and mnde this their home. Mr. Douglass died fourtocn yenrs ago, Mrs. Douglass leaves two sons nnd two daughters, all married and residing here, and a large number of other relatives and friends who are shocked because of her death. She endured all the hardships hard-ships attendant to the building up of a new country and did a great work for the bettorment of this city and the Slate, her main object being to help those In need and lend a helping hand wherever she could do good. She waB associated with numerous church organizations and died a faithful Latter-day Saint. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock p. m., in the Second ward meeting-house. All friends of the family are Invited. |
