Show THE DEADLY HATPIN. Indianapolis Star. Not long ago an Eastern paper contained con-tained an account of a murder committed com-mitted with a hatpin. A recent story, of an automobile accident related that one woman of the party came to her death through having her hatpin driven through her brain by force of her fall from the vehicle. Yesterday's papers told of the blinding of a Chicago Chi-cago schoolgirl by running against a companion in the cloakroom and setr tlng an occidental thrust in the eye from the latter's hafpln. The hatpin is a fiendish implement and gives to the most feminine of women an air of bristling defiance. For Its number is legion; It is always found In tho plural. One hatpin is not sufficient to anchor the smallest of -hat upon the wearer's head There Is the last number found in the headgear of the average young woman, and half a dozen sharp and threatening point are likely to emerge from the feathers and flowers of her hat. |
