The Senate Committee on Public Lands today authorized author-ized a favorable report of the Joint resolution reso-lution extending the timo of opening of the Shoshone Indian reservation from June 15 until August 15. The House Committee on Public Lands today authorized a fnvorab'o report on Senator Dubois's bill for tho relief of settlers set-tlers In the Hepburn and Rupperl town sites In Idaho. The bill, which Is now assured as-sured of passage, permits settlers who have made permanent Improvements to hnvo preference In the purchase of town lots. Bolieves Rate Bill Will Pass. Senator Dubois Is of tho opinion that the Hepburn rate bill will pass tho Senate Sen-ate subotnntlally without amendments. After a canvass of the Democratic Senators Sena-tors he Is convinced that a majority of them bollevo the bill In its present form Is moro desirable than It would be If amended In accoriianco with any of tho suggestions yet pioposcd.
