Show RAILWAY SERVICE M BE IMPROVED Patrons Along Sevier Branch of Rio Grande System Sign Petitions. i SiHsclal to Th Tribune. RICHFIELD, March 22. It having been brought to the attention of the people here that there will be a meeting meet-ing in Denver tho first of next month of the; ofllclals of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad company, at which meeting the Utah representatives of the company will endeavor to get permission permis-sion to Inaugurate an improvement in the service on the Sevier branch by having a through and direct mail and passenger train from Salt Lake to Richfield and return, and it having been suggested that petitions from the peoplo in this valley to the company would be of assistance to the said representatives representa-tives in presenting their arguments for 'such change, the people of Richfield and other towns have already begun acting on the hint and are getting petitions pe-titions signed urging the change and setting forth reasons why it should be made. Present Service Is a Combination, For years the service from Mantl 60Uth has been a combination freight and passenger, and there has been no regularity of arrival of trains from the north Sometimes Uicy arc on time, at other timet they arc from "half hour to three and four hours behind schedule sched-ule time. As the trains are not scheduled sched-uled here until -1:27 p. m.. nt this P laco and nil points south, In the winter t me onpeclally. whenever tho train Is late mall and passengers do not get into town until after dark.
