Show JUMPING GEORGE'S CLAIM. The news that Hon. .George "W. Bartch proposes to Jump the claim of the Hon. George Sutherland to the Utah Senntorshlp is shocking to the friends of the latter gentleman. They do not think it at all fair that, after George Sutherland had done assessment assess-ment work on this claim year after year, and had gotten It almost ready for patent, anyone else should come In and make protest and set up a demand for title. They point to the very costly and exacting ex-acting labor performed by Mr. Sutherland; Suther-land; they show that on previous occasions oc-casions he yielded rights which were his own, in order to satisfy the demands de-mands of other claimants; and they think that his course of self-abnegation, industry and perseverance should be rewarded by having a decision in his favor. Pursuing the simile, Mr. Sutherland, Just at the present time, has control of the authority which determines this title, and unless Judge Bartch can get more from "Washington than anybody believes he can get, his protest will be dismissed at bis own cost. |
