Tho deaths and suffering would havo been avoided had all stayed by tholr ves-hoI, ves-hoI, which had a miraculous escape, and four hours later was safely anchored In Provlncetown harbor. The Fish Hawk was fishing off Capo Cod yesterday when the weather becamo threatening and Captain Bly decided to run Into Provlncetown. Before ho reached tho end of the cape the vessel fetched up on tho Peaked Hill bars. Captain Bly burned his signal torch and then ordered his crow Into tho boats. Four of tho seamen Jumped Into a dory, which was almost Immediately capsized. Captain Bly and four others loft tho vessel ves-sel a few minutes later. Beforo tho rest of tho crow could follow tholr skipper tho wind and sea had driven tho Fish Hawk over tho bar and alio was navigated Into Provlncetown harbor. |
