Show New Regulation BajMSuggested New York Bowling Association Petitions Peti-tions American Bowling Congress Con-gress to Change. A movement of much moment to tho American bowling congress was Inaugurated Inaugur-ated In New York last week when tho Eastern Alloy Owners' association decided de-cided to petition the New York Bowling association to Join tho American bowling congress as a city association, provided tho demands mado on tho national body bo acceded to. It was further provided that tho American Amer-ican bowling congress bo requested to change Ita rule regarding tho regulation ball to road as follows: "Tho regulation ball shall bo twenty-seven twenty-seven inches n clrcumforonco. wholly of ono substance, nnd not exceeding sixteen pounds In weight" Tho desire of tho Eastern Alloy Owners' Own-ers' association to got Into tho A. B. C. band wagon, If consummated, means that all of the big bowling centers of tho country will bo in line, making tho national na-tional organization a solid affair. Just what tho preclso domnnds of tho N, Y. B. A. will bo Is not known, but as long as It, does not try to force tho strict club rules now In voguo In Greater New York on the West there Is not much fear that an amicable arrangomont cannot bo reached. As far as tho weight of the ball Is concerned, It Is merely a matter of eight ounces, and such a small matter Is hurdly worth quarreling ovor. In this connection It Is interesting that the St Paul Bowling association Instructed Instruct-ed Its delegates to tho A. B. C. to vote for tho sixteen and one-half pound ball, and doubtless many other Western delegates dele-gates will receive the samo directions. To differ on a matter oC eight ounces would be hair splitting with a vengeance. President Moll Explains. Tho plan of Socrotary Langtry of the Milwaukee T. B. A. of Individual membership mem-bership In tho American bowling congress, con-gress, whloh was given publicity in tho prees of tho countrv last weeek, has been favorably rocelvcd by many bowlers, who havo exprofscd their approval by lottors. Prosldont Moll of tho Tournament company com-pany Is fearful, however, that tho plan will bo misunderstood and in this connection con-nection said yesterday. "Tho idea Is not to Intcrfcro with club membership or local associations now required re-quired by tho Amorlcan bowling congress, con-gress, but rather to assess each club In accordance with Its membership and to give tho individual bowler a personal Interest In-terest in tho national governing body." It will bo recalled that the suggestion of Secretary Langtry was confined to tho Individual membership proposition, as he did not at the time care to go into the question of clubs or local associations for tho control of the game, which Is another otory. Acting on suggestions they1 received on their Eastern trip Messrs. Moll and Terry havo persuaded tho managers of tho national na-tional tournament to offer a prlzo of $100 to the player making tho highest avor-ago avor-ago Jn all three events. A mall voto of the members of tho executive committee of the A. B. C, Is now being taken and It Is thought that all will consent to this Innovation. Candidates for the Hero Fund. Balldom has gripped the people this sjdo of the bordor now as for years it hqs dqno across tho great dividing line. Theso eight leagues will foot up a total of llfty or sixty teams, and with at least fourteen athletes bookod for each camp, there should bo over S00 enlisted men In action.
