Tho court now slttlns at Manti In tho contest con-test for tho Judgeship of tho Seventh district, dis-trict, adjourned yestorday until Monday. In tho answer filed by Ericksen, somo serious se-rious allegations aro made by the con-tostco con-tostco ngainst tho contestant. Among tho multitude of allegations Is the charge that Livingston offered J400 to James Larson of this city, bishop of the South ward. In order to Inlluenco the said Larsen to voto for tho contestant and also to lnduco and Influence tho said Larsen to procuro others to voto for tho contestant. contest-ant. Anothor chargo Is that Livingston further fur-ther offered to donate ?10G0 to tho Sovlcr acadomy at Ephralm, tho offer bolng mado to Henry Beal, chairman of tho stako board of the academy; also to N. E. Noycs and C. B. Dorlus, tho trustees of tho Snow academy. This donation was to be given to the academy. It Is alleged, al-leged, If air. Livingston was elected to the offlco of Judge. Othor serious allegations aro mado against tho Judges of election at Sunny-sldb, Sunny-sldb, charging that liquor waa kept at or near tho polling places, on the day of election, and that tho Judges partook frcoly of tho Inebriating cup beforo tho counting of tho ballots was concluded. Tho counting of tho ballots Is now proceeding pro-ceeding and will contlnuo throughout tho dlHtrlct. |
