Show MANY FAMOUS HORSES SOLD AT AUCTION READVILLE, Mass., May 23. Many celebrated racing horses were on tho list to bo sold at an auction salo that opened hero today. A number of well-known horsemen from various parts of tho country coun-try wero present. Tho chief consignments consign-ments were those of tho lato J. Malcolm Forbes of Boston and of Thomas W. Law-flon Law-flon of Boston. Tho Forbes stock Included tho famous trotter, Blngcn, 2:06U, for which J25.000 was recently refused; Vice-Commodore, Vice-Commodore, the three-year-old son of BIngon and Marlon; tho famous maro Nancy Hanks; Marlon, tho eight-year-old daughter of Arlon and Nancy Hanks, and Susie J., 2.0&H. Blngcn was tho first horse offered and was sold for $32,00, to A. H. Parker of Bedford, Mass. Nancy Hanks, tho mare which for nearly near-ly thrco years held the trotting championship champion-ship of the world, when the record stood at 2:04, wa sold for $1000 to J, M. Johnson, Mayor of Calais, Me. |
