Show SUSPENSION OF WORK ON MAZEPPA SHAFT The Record, reviewing tho work at Park City, Gays: Work at tho Mazeppa shaft at the Daly was discontinued this week, and while tho reason given Is that surface wator has forced them to temporarily abandon the shaft, there arc a number who are of tho opinion that development work will hereafter here-after be carried on through the old Federal Fed-eral tunnel. Manager Rood emphatically declines to verify the report, as he did two or three months back, when he stated that nothing would be gained by such a procetluro. It would tnke .probably thrco months to connect with tho Mazeppa ledge, but then It would be at some depth. If largo ore bodies were opened up then tho product could easily bo hauled through the tunnel and It would not bo necessary to put a hoisting plant at tho Mazeppa shaft, Tho product of the Kcams-Kelth mill Is now being hauled down over the new road in tho gulch. President John J. Daly of the Daly-Judgo Daly-Judgo was In camp Thursday and spont tho day at the mine. Mr. Daly "reports nothing especially startling, but says tho development work Is progressing nicely, and everything 1h looking splendid. A new feed water heater was received for the King Con. company this week. The device Is arranged so that the cx-hauBt cx-hauBt steam from tho engines heats tho water before it enters tho boilers, and Is quite a moncy-oavlne machine. It will be taken to the mlno as soon as tho roada will permit. |
