Warner I Thompson accepted the gift In behalf of j the school, and In his speech he took J occasion to make a numbor of witty rofer-cnci's rofer-cnci's to tho .seniors. The cut-torn was originated by tho claps of 100). and ovory succeeding . lass has added one bust to the collection, which. It is hoped, will in tlmo develop Into a hall of fame collodion. Tho present ollectlon contains busts of Washington, Lincoln, Franklin and Grant. At the beginning of tho assembly Dr. Fish of tho Unitarian church delivered a brilliant eulogy on tho "1.1 fo and Charac-i Charac-i tor of General Grant " Ho characterized ! Grant as a man of peace who did not 'nter the war with a view of gaining fame Ho allied attention to his extreme ( simplicity and modesty, and pictured Grant as the very opposlto of the proud and arrogant Bismarck. Dr. Fish was personally acquainted with Gen. Grant, 1 ! and during his lecture ho recalled a num-l num-l ber of personal experiences which served to mako his talk both Interesting and Instructive In-structive to the students.
