Location work on tho Venus, San Pedro and Japan claims has been completed and riled with the district recorder. A forty-foot ledge on tho Japan has been trlppc.d, showing a fino body of gold and silver-bearing ore of low-grado quartz and talc, cropping throughout the entire extent of the claim. Several fino lead claims have been located lo-cated this week eighteen miles north from Callcntca, from which nssays of 20 per cent lead and $6 gold have been taken from a two and one-half-foot ledge. Five clnlms adjoining the Grand View group at Twenty-Mile station, south of Callcntes, wero located April 23rd by San Pedro railroad men. McQuald and Hill, part owners in tho Grand View group of mines, have home-steaded home-steaded 200 aores each along tho lino of the San Pedro railroad and between It and their mines. They Intend mapping out a townBlto near tho Warm Spring claim, which Is one of tho claims of the Grand View group. a The construction of the Western Union telegraph lino from Callcntes toward Io.s Angelca will begin this week.
