Show Railway Notes. J. A. Edson, general manager of the Denver & Rio Grande, started on his Avay back to Denver yesterday. H. M. Curbing, traveling passenger agent for tho Denver & Rio Grande, has gone to Denver to make arrangements arrange-ments for the transportation of a theatrical thea-trical troupe. "Big doings" was the word at the San Pedro excursion tq American Fork on Tuesday night. Three hundred and fifty odd people went out under the management of C. H. Patten, traveling passenger agent of the road, and everyone every-one seemed to have a fine time. C. H, Specrs, general passenger agent of the Colorado Midland, passed through yesterday on his wuy to Denver Den-ver from Portland, Or. The passenger departments of the various trann-contlnental rouds are considering tho reduction of tho World's fair rates to SC. Louis. Considerable dissatisfaction exists In St. Louis about them, sis the citizens of the World's fair city think' the present rates are not low enough to attract, sufficient crowds. Nothing definite has as yet beoru decided on, as tho passenger association has only juat taken the matter, up. M. E. Holmes, the assistant train dispatcher dis-patcher on the Short Line, who was recently transferred to Ogden, had an addition to his family yesterday In tho shape of a baby girl. Mother and child, who are at the Keogh-Wrlght hospital In this city, are doing very nicely. Tho Union Pacific has decided to fence In the pond formed by the Dale creek fill, thirty miles vest of Cheyenne, Chey-enne, and hereafter fishing In tho pond will , be forbidden. The fishermen of Lammlo and Cheyenne are much Incensed In-censed at this decision, the pond being one of the best fishing places between the two cities. The railroad. It Is said, Intends at sqitiq future time to locate a pleasure resort at the Dale creek fill, and Intends to nave the trout "in the pond for patrons of the prospective resort. |
