Show QUEEN OF THE CARNIVAL SEEKS CORONATION GOWN Miss Leah Daniels of Provo was In the city yesterday In quest of a coronation cor-onation gown to be worn during the Elks State Association convention in that city next month. The first day of tho reunion she Is to be crowned queen of tho carnival. Her robes will be the finest and most expensive of their kind ever seen In the State upon such an occasion. The queen is to be attended by eight maids of honor. They will bo selected between now and the date of the coronation cor-onation by the other four ISIk lodges In the State. Their gowns' will be in kooping with those of Mlsa Loah. Almost all the contracts for the features fea-tures of tho midway have been either arranged or signed by Judge M. M. Warner, who has been made director general of tho reunion. The laat one secured was Prof. Nelson of this city, who will loop the loop every day. There will also be several balloon ascensions. Two of the principal features of tha occoalqn will be the strawberry feell-val feell-val and the fish dinner. Every vlaltor to Provo is invited to both. To accommodate ac-commodate the crowds it has been found necessary to contract for several sev-eral cars of berriea and more than live tons of llsli. A corps of chefs and assistants as-sistants from Salt Lake City have been secured to prepare the llfh. The product prod-uct of two large crea merle waa found necessary to supply the cream for the berries. They will be served by the young women of Provo. Advices received by the Provo Elks from the other lodges in the State give aseurances of the largest gathering of the Best People On Earth in that city next month that Utah has ever seen, excepting the grand lodge and reunion here in 1002. Each lodge will attend In uniform and will participate in the two parades in anticipation, of taking one of the several prizes which have been offered for the largest delegation, best appearance and finest uniformed. Eureka and Park City are rivals for the drilling- prizes. Two have been offered, of-fered, one for J150 and the other for J100. In both places the beet drillers are practicing, hoping to be awarded the money offered by the Elks. |
