Show IDAHO EDITORS VIEWS Bees H Davis Is Convinced That Dubois Du-bois Will Not Be Elected Rees H Davis editor of the Caldwell Tribune the Idaho Enterprise of Malad and the Oneida Republican of Preston Is a guest at the Kenyon He is hereto here-to confer with General Passenger Agent Burley of the Short Line with reference to getting out a handsomely Illustrated folder calling attention to the unsurpassed natural resources of Idaho the written part of which Mr Davis will furnish As he has been in this part of the country since 1861 he is considered the man to handle the subject Speaking of the Senatorial situation in Idaho Mr Davis said I do not believe be-lieve that Mr Dubois was really nominated nomi-nated in that alleged caucus on the 7th Inst My opinion Is that a considerable consid-erable number of representatives to the Idaho Legislature were not present at the caucus and this belief is encouraged encour-aged by the fact that the Bear Lake delegation had bodily returned home My belief Is that before the voting begins be-gins many of those who wore supposed to have been favorable to Mr Dubois will switch and throw their Influence in other directions Finally I do not think that Mr Dubois will be elected The consensus of opinion In Idaho Is that the people would rather be without with-out representation than be represented by the fusion element which was pre dominant In the last election There is evidently a reaction in the State and people are sorry for what they did In allowing the election to go the way It did The Republicans would have carried car-ried the State but for the anarchistic tendencies of northern Idaho which were encouraged by the weak and vacillating va-cillating administration of Gov Steun en berg In speaking of Senator Shoup Mr Davis said Shoup Is the best representative rep-resentative of Idahos Interests we ever had In Congress He has been faithful faith-ful and truthful to all the Interests of the State and has lost no opportunity to furher the welfare of the State The best Interests of the West demand that Shoup he returned to the United States Senate Returns From California State Senator Hoyt Sherman Jr returned re-turned yesterday from a flying business trip to California In time to attend the Inauguration ceremonies He was away for five days and nights and four of the nights were spent In a sleeping car Members Who Have Arrived Albert Stevens of Loa the Wayne county Representative In tho lower house arrived In the city last eVening and is registered at the Cullen The outoftown members now here be 1 I Ides Mr Stevens are Johnson and Homer of Utah county Gasman and McFarland of Weber Kelly of Millard I I and Archibald Stuart of Sand |
