Show SMALL BLAZE ON IOWA AVENUE Residence and Store of David Iilintz I Damaged by Fire A fire in the residence and store of DaVid Mlntz at 250 Iowa avenue came very near destroying the whole bulll InS shortly before 6 oclock last evenIng even-Ing The fire started while there was no one In the building Mrs Mintz having hav-ing come up town to meet her husband The fire was tllscoAered by Oscar Lund quist who turned in an alarm Jim Davidson and four or five other boys who happened to be In the vicinity immediately Im-mediately ran to the place and breakIng break-Ing in the side door began to throw snow and water on the blaze keeping It In check until the department ar I rhed The fire department extinguished extin-guished It with a few gallons of chemicals chem-icals The room In which It started Is used as a store and the room and contents Avere considerably damaged causing a loss of about 150 About 8 oclock Mr and Mrs Mint I returned home and upon learning of the fire Mrs Mlntz dropped in a dead I faint In the snow Fireman Sorensen who was detailed at tho house until the couple returned assisted by some ot the neighbors finally succeeded in resuscitating her and helping her In the house The fire originated behind a counter among some papers and matches although It Jr not known how I the matches were Ignited |
