Show TUE MYSTERIOUS ABDUCTION I Various Theories of the Case that I Aroused a Neighborhood I Parents of the child which was supposed sup-posed to have been the victim of abduction abduc-tion on the corner of Third North and I Fifth West late Thursday night failed to materialize yesterday The matter ti Is treated lightly by the police and by several of those living in the vicinity Parley Hill a barber who lives near the corner where the child was saldto have been seized failed to hear the screams although he was at home and awake at the time He does not doubt that screams were heard and that some girl was taken Into a buggy However I Mr Hill says that a numb ot youths in the neighborhood are burdened with vehicles amTthat they are in the habit of taking young girls out riding that late at night IIe believes that the cries heard were those of sudden mirth or hilarity A number of others share Mr Hills theory David Unsworth a young man who lives at 757 West Second Noi th says that he passed the place in a buggy about the time of the occurrence lie followed the exact course taken by those supposed to have been kidnapers 1 kidnap-ers Young Unsworth thinks he may have been mistaken for one of the supposed sup-posed abductors However he is positive posi-tive that he did not Indulge In any of the antics credited to the fellows who carried a girl to their buggy He had a young lady In his vehicle he said but she most assuredly did not scream either In mirth or terror Clnra Evans and Mabel Edgar the young girls who were eyewitnesses to the proceedings of the night before were positive they were not mistaken They positively reiterate every statement state-ment they made of what they witnessed Thursday night Fully a dozen people in the neighborhood neighbor-hood are positive that they heard the screams |
