Show MONTANA libby herald manager E H wilson of the snowshoe has contracted with mr winnie of spokane to haul concentrates from the mine to the libby southern railway mr winnie has shipped in twenty six head of horses and expects to handle about forty tons a day probably tons have accumulated at the mine awaiting shipment libby herald another big hydraulic plant will soon be added to the libby placer district W H graham last week purchased the Crider inan interests on libby creek and will work the ground on an extensive scale mr graham has also acquired the drilling machine which has been operated there in test borings bolings during the past summer with such satisfactory ile results the machine will be moved to the lower part of the crider man inan ground for further borings bolings bo rings and it is at this point where the gravel will be worked by the hydraulic plant butte intermountain for the first time since 1908 the shaft of the anaconda mine from collar to sump a distance of 2400 feet is in perfect condition and in a few weeks beeks the company will be in a position to resume mining on the lower levels in june 1908 fire that had been shouldering ing I 1 in the st lawrence adjoining the anaconda broke out and in the following september mining operations in the anaconda were suspended sue the shaft of the anaconda was in need of repairs and opportunity was taken later to do that work these repairs were completed to the foot level and mining was continued from that level up from september 1909 in october 1910 the company started to repair the shaft below the level and this work has been completed there remains a little work to be done before the usual crews are put on in the lower levels but this should be finished in a few weeks when mining may be resumed as formerly |
