Show Theatre. The audience last night was not large, the shower keeping people peo-ple indoors. The play was again "Mary, Queen of Scots," in which Mrs. Lander repeated her great part of the Queen to universal acceptance. To-night Reed's historical tragedy of "Mario Antoinette" will be presented pre-sented for the benefit of Mrs. Lander. This play has never been produced here, and will no doubt attract a large audience. It has proved a powerful attraction elsewhere and is considered by critics tho mo3t attractive piece based upon French history. Though by no means a sensational drama, in the modern acceptance of the term, the situations are highly sensational iu their character, aud partake far more of the dramatic clement than either of the pieces in which Mrs. Lander has so far appeared during her engagement. This talented lady closes her engagement tomorrow to-morrow evening. |
