RATES I Mr Gillospie reported for the committee on printed matter and transportation that all lines between the Missouri and Salt Lake have made a one fare rate for the I round trip and that the committee is tryIng try-Ing to prevail on tho other railway companies com-panies to do tho same The Rio Grande Western and Union Pacific railways have I agreed to give a onethird rate to all Utah points during tho term of the tickets purchased pur-chased and the Union Pacific is expected to do the same The Rio Grande Western and Denver Rio Grande have taken an interest in the advertising and will help substantially in this matter MAIL MATTER Delegates members of Congress editors etc have been sent printed matter the editors being requested to make any mention they may think seasonable Every piece of mail matter will be sent out by to night STATISTICS Colonel Stevenson reported the committee commit-tee on statistics has organized and has sent out to all assessors county surveyors and stake presidents a printed series of questions ques-tions and that a number of circular letters have been sent to bishops a number of which have been answered In a clear concise con-cise manner A book of about fifty pago will be gotten out by this committee in timefor the commencement of the congress Other labor has been done which will lead to many good results Statistics will be produced to prove that 30 per cent of Utahs water is all that is being used The secretary was instructed to give any assistance assist-ance to Colonel Stevenson in the matter of the issuance of the statistical pamphlet This report will bo the best and fullest of any ever gotten out as to the irrigation r facilities of Utah On all hands the searchers search-ers for statistics have been clearly answered and no trouble has been thrown in Colonel Stevensons way by anyone THE COMMITTEE ON RECEPTION has ascertained that the Utah Sugar company com-pany the town of Lehi and the Bear River Canal company will be anxious to entertain enter-tain delegates The Union Pacific will furnish a free train to Garfield and the Choral society will give a concert at tho tabernacle on the 17th A resolution wa passed to request the chucch authorities tc givo the tabernacle for this concert A communication was received from Mr Fred Trimmer suggesting the Union Pacific Pa-cific should be asked to take the delegates to Snakq River valley for the purpose of i showing what prosperous neighbors we have A MEETING NEXT THURSDAY The chairsuggested that a meeting of the Utah delegates snould be hold just prior to the convenement of the congress The meeting was set for Tnursday evening the lOw at the chamber of commerce The governors of all the states and territories have been heard from except the governors of
