Show Four and a Half Per Cent Bond Circular WASHINGTON Sept 2The secretary of the treasury today issued tho following circular Public notice is hereby given that the time during which bonds ofthe4K percent I loan will be received at the office of the Uiit secretary for continuance with interest at the rate of 2 per cent per annum is extended ex-tended until further notice and the circular circu-lar of July 2 1801 under which said bonds were heretofore received for continuance is i modified accordingly Interest at 4 percent per-cent on all bonds of said loan will cease this day in accordance with the terms of the circular of June 2 1891 but bonds presented pre-sented for continuance under this circular will bear interest at the rate of 2 per cent per annum from September 11891 The amount presented for redemption up to noon today was 51300000 making a total of 3300000 presented for that purpose pur-pose Secretary Foster said this afternoon the xtension of time was made because of the act developed by correspondence that omo holders of bonds through absence or other causes had been unable to present them for continuance in tie time specified The total continued under the circular of July 2 to date is 523554000 The total amount of 43 per cents presented redemption is S04b7700 |
