Attempt to Mob Stanley in Sheffield LONDON May 16 While HenrYM Stan ley delivered a lecture at delvered Sheffield last Shefeld evening eve-ning the hall hal was invaded by a gang of Socialists who began to sell among the au dience a pamphlet attacking the explorer The pamphlet was very freely bought under I the belief that it contained a report of ono of Stanleys lectures When the fraud was discovered there was great commotion and the venders were violently expelled Tho expeled gang tried to mob Stanley as he left tho hal but his friends gathered around him and with the assistance of the police kept off his assailants until he drove off in a cab
