| Show HOLDEN HEAH FROM I Something About a Progressive Millard County Town HOLDEN Feb 20Holden deserves a I place in the vocabulary of Utahs progressive pro-gressive towns It is situated in the east central part of Millard county ten miles I I north of Fillmore It was formerly known I as Cedar Springs so named from a number I num-ber of small springs trickling from the bench on the east side of the town In the summer of 18S9 these springs I were utilized for culinary purposes by a I system of underground pipes I believe Holden thus became the second town in the territory with water mains There are now but three or four families in the town without water piped to their homes Stock raising is our principal industry and source of supply but some of Utahs finest fruits are produced here Holden has the finest meeting and school buildings in Millard county |
