Show Sons ot St George The ordinary meeting Trafalgar lodgo was held on Wednesday evening Worthy President W Gill Mills presided pre-sided Owing to sickness Worthy Secre i I tary Brown was absent Notwithstanding the inclemency the weather there was a large gathering of the members The business done was of an interesting character and conducted J with the best of feeling and matters were I I1cErt jS discussed harmoniously The receipts of the evening were generous and the dis hursments small as the members are all in good health and spirits though tainted more or less with the stringency of the times and dullness of trade The Sir I Knights felt in good spirits at the condition condi-tion of the finances of the lodge and also with prospects of many applications for membership and the outlook for new lodges in several important cities in the territory inquiries being made from various va-rious places The order is growing rap idly in public favor as its aims objects and liberality monetarily politically religiously patriotically are becoming belter known Before the close of the meeting the recent bereavement of Sir I Knight Robert Caham in the sudden death by sickness of his little daughter I Minna H a beloved and loving child was brought to the notice of the knights I and a committee was selected to draft and present resolutions of sympathy to the parents which was done and the resolutions I I resolu-tions were adopted I The ball given by the Sir Knights the I G A K hall on Thursday evening proved to be a very pleasant social event I About fifty couples were present and dancing was engaged in until an early hour in the morning Theprogramme and the general arrangements were very well carried out and a most enjoyable time was spent by all present The ladies were most handsomely costumed and altogether al-together it was a very recherche assembly assem-bly Great credit is due the following I gentleman who composed the committee of management for the unqualified success suc-cess of the ball H J ailverthorne Alt Brown H F Clark W M Brown J T Watrous and H Gomm |
