Show Attention Taxpayers I I determination of the county court as announced in THE HERALD yesterday Ito I-to give public notice of the amount of I taxes due from each taxpayer who has i I not paid the ten per cent extra assess i I mont Is very considerato of the interests of those delinquents In most Instances j I I the sums due are small Nevertheless I the must be paid or there will be nothing noth-ing left for the collector to do but levy on I the property and put it up at public sale I The ten per cent was added to the original I orig-inal assessment by the Board of Equalization Equaliz-ation after the first notices had been issued I sued on the amounts named thereon had been in some instances paid and receipted for Those persons who hold such receipts may think they are safe in j neglecting to pay the further assessment I jln that they will find themselves mistaken I mis-taken The collectors receipt being only I for the original assessment it will not be i I received as evidence of payment of the I full tax because the Board had the legal I power to make the increase Taxpayers then should be sure that I they have settled in full for their taxes I for 1892 And when they receive notice either by printed form or newspaper advertisement ad-vertisement that they are delinquent thoy had better call at the collectors i office at the county court building and settle or they will subjeot themselves to I further expense and inconvenience |
