AT SANDY I The People and the Independents Hold a Great Meeting Perhaps 1000 people attended the rally of the Peoples party and the Independent Workingmen at Sandy A long torchlight procession marChed around the town fine fireworks were discharged a huge bonlire roared and anvils were sounded Altogether Alto-gether it was a line and enthusiastic display Five speakers addressed a large audience Barlow Ferguson Fer-guson S A Kenner George R Gushing Mr Parsons and Mr Porcher were the speakers the last three representing the Independents The speeches struck home especially those of the Workingmen and the enthusiasm enthusi-asm augurs well for a heavy vote for the fusion ticket The people of Sandy deserve de-serve grqat praise for the thorough manner in which they held forth in their battle for the right Well done Sandy and let us hear from you on Monday also
