Show HONOR TO CAPTAIN ERICSSON Orders for the Embarkation of His Remains on the Baltimore WASHINGTON Aug 2The acting secretary secre-tary of the navy has sent a communication to the commandant of the navy yard stating stat-ing that the department has fixed the 23d of August a the timo for the embarkation of the remains of the late John Ericsson for transportation to his native country on board the United States ship Baltimore In his letter the acting secretary says It is the departments desire t surround the embarkation with every circumstance that can invest it with dignity and solemn ity All the vessels of war that may be available will be assembled at New York and will be directed to unito with wi unio you in paying to the deceased the honors befitting his rank and distinguished name The department has invited all associa tions composad of friends companions or former countrymen of Captain Ericsson to take part in the procession the battery |
