| Show POLICE COURT A lan Swindled Oat of His Watch A man named Wilson called at tho police station yesterday and stated that on the night before F J Flynn and Frank Smith mot him in a saloon and swindled him out of a watch and chain Although Wilson had the ticker he had no money and Flynn learning this offered to bet 5 ngalnst the watch that Wilson had 10 cents in i his pockets Wilson knowing did not have a cent took the bet but before tha search was made Smith Flynns accomplice accom-plice put a dime in Wilsons pocket The search was made and the dime found and Wilson left the saloon minus his watcb He claimed that it was a putup job and the charge of petit larceny was placed against the two sharpers who were soon afterwards arrested by Officer Glenn They will be tried this afternoon William Lawrence and J W Bailey who are charged with cracking tho safe over Schados saloon on Slain street on Monday Mon-day morning have not yet been examined It is not thought that a caso can be made against them L B Strong was arrested yesterday for trespass Officer Glenn yesterday arrested Gilbert Swansea on the charge of obtaining goods I under false pretenses The case was dismissed dis-missed later in the day F Stah was fined 5 for drunkenness Mary Smedley pleaded guilty to tho same 11 offense but sentence was suspended |
