| Show PARK CITYo WEDNESDAY December 2 THE HOTEL PROJECT I i Well Under WayA Glimpse at the Plans Ore In the Ontario The long talked of hotel and theatre combined com-bined bids fair to become a substantial proof if a person can judge by looking at the plans By the kindness of Mr B S Kimball father of the enterprise and the architects Messrs Parker Doxey Eat man THE HERALD representative was allowed the privilege of looking over the specifications which though hardly completed as yet still show a building of substantial material and generous dimensions dimen-sions The plans show a building 100x130 feet with the hotel entrance on Main street and the entrance to the theatre on Park avenue Tho building will be made of sandstone and brick four storiss ia height with the i entrance to the theatre composed of red sandstone with an arch with pillars and converging to a keystone in the centre The hotel part will contain 133 rooms not to mention the laundry bath and other accessory rooms The theatre will have a seating capacity of about 1000 and will bo composed of parquotto dross circle balcony bal-cony and gallery The mean diameter of the stage will be 40x70 feet and in tho clear will be 35x35 feet The latter will be tho stage proper Under the stage will be ample room for fly traps ordinaries etc aud will be two stories deep The entire building will be lighted by electricity and will be entirely fire proof and in addition will have two dead walls to prevent the spread of fire There will be plenty of fire escapes and numerous auxiliary exits in tho theatre in cases of emergency The one particular point worth special mention is the proscenium This will be 40 feet high and about 50 broad The plan calls for 1C loggias but it was thought better to cut the numberdown to Gon each side The I lobby contrary tn the usual manner is one story below the entrance thus bringing the balcony entrance on a level with the same The exact date when the enterprise will be started is not as jet known but i will be some time during the next spring Mr W V Rice and wife returned from the east where they had been to attend Mr Rices mother she having been quite illThe The erection of the Park City Ice com panys new ice house was started The same is situated at the north ond of tho Utah Central Y The strike of ore reported in the Ontario is said to be quite important I is on the 1500 foot level of Ontario No2 and extends ex-tends all the way from about fifty to one hundred feet The water In the Ontario drain tunnel is receding very slowly and Mr Keetloy reports re-ports the water in the tunnel now to be all the way from thirtythree to thirtysix inches deep and about five and onehalf onehlf feet wide Those workine there nro na tiently waiting for the water to recede allow them an opportunity to resume work The Social club meets again on December Decem-ber 3J at which time the report of the committee appointed to solicit new members mem-bers will be heard Santa Claus is heralding his approach to the youngsters of the place by sending the snow as an advance to let them know of I his close proximity |
