| Show International League of Press Clubs NEW YORK Dec IThe governing board of tho International League of Press Clubs held a meeting today at the Imperial Im-perial hotel to complete arrangements for the lea uesnext annual convention at San Francisco January 14 The members present pres-ent were Thomas J Keenan jr Pitts burg president of the league Lynn R Meekins Baltimore and Dr Joseph H Senner New York vicepresidents j Charles V I Price New York secretary William R Worrall New York M H Uo Young San Francisco H D Vought Buffalo Dr John FriederIch New York S G Lapham Syracuse Sy-racuse Thomas F AnUerson Boston and William Berry Brooklyn members of the executive committee The committee on transportation reported re-ported arrangements were nearly completed com-pleted for a special train The delegates leave New York via tbe Pennsylvania road January 5 spend the 6th in Chicago visiting visit-ing the Exposition buildings and grounds then by the Northwestern to Omaha thu Union Pacific to Denver spending the Hth there then to Salt Lake arriving on the 11th and spending the day then via the Central Pacific to San Francisco arriving on the 13th returning the same way Mr De Young urged the route bo changed and return via Southern California He said bo could almost assure the league if they would visit Los Angeles and San Diego tho newspapermen and citizens citi-zens of those cities would appre elate the compliment and give them a hearty reception After some argument and owing to the persistence of Mr De Young tha board instructed tho committee commit-tee to change tile route if possible and return re-turn by tbe Santa Fe A resolution was passed authorizing the chairman of the committee on programme Mr De Young to represent thu league in completing arrangements I ar-rangements with the local committee In San Frannlsco Letters were received from a number of prominent journalists notifying the governors govern-ors of their intention to attend the convention conven-tion General Felix Angus of Baltimore Marshall Wilder Eugene Field W J Arkell Kato Field Colonel Taylor of the Boston Globe and George Childs expect togo to-go After toe meeting a dinner was given I the board at the Imperial |
